Garden waste

Almost all of Stormossen’s waste reception stations accept garden waste.

Waste from the garden is divided into two categories:

  • leaves, grass clippings, trimmings, chipped branches, leftovers from apple harvests
  • twigs, branches and individual trees and small tree stumps

Note! We do not want to receive invasive plants together with the garden waste. They should be sealed in plastic bags and sorted as mixed waste. Find more information about invasive, alien species here.

Bring your garden waste here:

All our waste reception stations, apart from Sammonkatu in Vaasa and Minimossen’s mini recycling station, receive garden waste. The garden waste station in Vaasa is a self service station which is open from May to December 7 am to 9 pm. The garden waste station’s gate opens with Stormossen’s customer card. Check out the opening hours of all the waste reception stations here.

Always bring your customer card when taking garden waste to Stormossen. We need to scan your card to obtain statistics on the number of visitors.

What happens to garden waste?

Twigs and branches are chipped and mixed with residue from the biogas plant to be turned into compost soil. Garden waste is used for composting oil contaminated soil.
