Waste reception stations

• Sort your waste at home beforehand. The Sorting Guide provides clear answers to sorting questions.
• Bring your customer card with you to the station.
• The safest place for children under 12 at the waste reception station is inside your own car.
• For safety reasons, it is strictly forbidden to enter or be inside a waste container at a waste reception station.
• Hazardous waste should be left according to instructions through the opening in the container. Ensure that the contents are in their original packaging or clearly labelled with what the sealed package contains. 
• The compactors for e.g. paper and cardboard packaging have small openings for safety reasons. Flatten the waste before placing it in the compactor. 
• Used tires should be taken to one of Finland’s tire recycling collection points or to Stormossen’s waste reception station in Koivulahti.
• Old or unused medications should be taken to a pharmacy. Instructions for pharmaceutical waste can be found on Fimea’s website.
• For explosives, ammunition, or weapons, contact the police. Unused fireworks should be returned to the seller. In unclear cases, contact the police.
• Heavy and large waste items that cannot be lifted without lifting equipment, as well as large amounts of waste, must be brought to Stormossen’s waste reception station in Koivulahti. The other stations do not have lifting equipment.
• Please note that any waste brought to the waste reception station becomes the property of the waste management company. It is not permitted to remove waste from the station.
• Please keep the station tidy. Do not leave waste on the ground.
