Waste Management in Housing Companies
Housing companies with five or more apartments must have waste containers on their own yard aimed for:
- Biowaste
- Mixed waste (Combustible waste)
- Paper
- Glass packages
- Metal packages
- Batteries
- Plastic packages
- Cardboard packages
Stormossen is responsible of the collection of biowaste, packaging waste (metal, glass, plastic and carton packaging) and batteries as well as transport-related customer service and invoicing. When noticing any inconvenience regarding emptying of the containers, please ask the landlord or chairperson of the board to contact Stormossen: logistiikka@stormossen.fi or 010 320 7676.
The housing company is still responsible of arranging the collection of mixed waste (combustible waste) and paper.
Hazardous waste, electrical and electronic waste, and large items must be brought to a waste reception station. Every household is entitled to Stormossen’s customer card and, consequently, an unlimited number of visits to a waste reception station. Order your houshold customer card here. For bringing waste produced by the housing company as a collective, e.g. cleaning or renovating shared spaces, the housing company needs a corporate customer card which can be applied for here (in Finnish)
Always inform Stormossen of new housing companies or a change of landlord. Tel 010 320 7600 or asiakaspalvelu@stormossen.fi.
Emptying intervals
Stormossen will empty the waste bins at housing companies in the next intervals:
- Biowaste 2 weeks
- Plastic- and carton packaging 2 weeks
- Metal- and glass packages 4 weeks
Emptying intervals can be adjusted in accordance with waste management regulations. The property manager or chairman of the board of directors of the housing company can request a link to the e-service from Stormossen’s logistics department at logistiikka(a)stormossen.fi. Through the e-service it is possible to change the emptying intervals and order extra emptying. The e-service also shows the timetables for future collections and all invoicing matters.
At locked waste points, coded key boxes are used for keys to allow drivers to enter the waste point. The key box can be obtained by contacting Stormossen.
