Bring your leftover apples to us

Stormossen accepts residual apples free of charge at the Garden Waste Station in Vaasa and at the waste reception stations in Isokyrö, Vähäkyrö, Malax and the Stormossen Waste Centre.

Please leave your apples in the containers provided and without plastic bags. Do not place bags of apples next to the container. Apples are given a new life through our biowaste facility. We turn them into environmentally friendly biogas and compost pulp.

Excess apples should primarily be donated to neighbours, friends or relatives. Schools, nurseries or horse stables may also be interested.

Small quantities of apples can be put in the biowaste bin in chopped form. Large quantities of apples make the bin too heavy, which is a safety risk for the waste truck driver. However, if there is a lot of fruit, it is advisable to take it to the waste reception stations mentioned above.
