Ensure Waste Drivers’ Safety by Sanding Your Yard
Stormossen and the waste transporters appreciate your efforts as an owner of a detached house to ensure that waste collection runs smoothly and safely, even during the winter.
- Remember to plow and sand your driveway and the area in front of the waste bin. If the driver slips and falls on the yard, the responsibility always lies with the property owner.
- Ensure that doors, hooks, or locks on garbage sheds can be opened – even with thick gloves on the hands.
- If waste becomes frozen inside the waste bin, it is the homeowner’s responsibility to thaw the bin so that the waste can be emptied. Prevent biowaste from freezing by letting the bag freeze separately, e.g. in a lidded bucket to avoid pests. Then place the frozen biowaste bag into the waste bin.
If the waste transporter has visited your property but could not empty the bin for a reason that falls under the homeowner’s responsibility, the homeowner will still be charged for the transport fee (excluding the treatment fee) according to the current waste tariff.
Waste collections may be delayed in challenging weather conditions, such as ice, cold, or heavy snowfall. We do our best to catch up with the schedule.
